Marketing for Fintech Vendors Selling Into Trading

If you sell payments, liquidity or platform tech to prop firms and brokers, your whole market might be a few hundred companies. Most marketing advice assumes millions. That changes what is worth doing.

Talk about your market

Why a small market changes the job

With a consumer product the job is reach. You need volume at the top and a small share of it converts. With a few hundred possible buyers, reach is not the problem. Being the obvious answer at the right moment is.

That moment is narrow. A broker picks a payment provider when they are launching, migrating, or when the current one has failed them. Your job is to be findable and convincing in that window, not to be famous.

A useful test. Could you list your realistic buyers on one page? If yes, then any plan built on traffic growth is aimed at the wrong thing.

What I work on

Positioning

What you are for, and which kind of firm you suit best. Most vendor sites in this market describe the same feature list in the same order.

Search that reaches operators

The problems a broker types when they are choosing. Low volume, high intent. Detail on fintech SEO.

The pages that close

Integration timelines, jurisdictions you serve, what pricing includes before the call, and what happens when a firm outgrows a tier.

Comparison content

Your buyers already search your name against your rivals. Better if that page is yours.

Partner and referral routes

In a small market a lot of deals arrive through someone else. Which relationships are worth building, and what to offer.

AI answers

Whether an assistant names you when an operator asks which provider to use. See the AI visibility audit.

Standing out when everyone is bundled

Turnkey providers often package marketing and a website into the platform. It covers the basics, and it is built once for every client on that platform. So a lot of vendors launch sounding identical to their competitors.

Fixing that is not a redesign. It is answering the things your rivals leave vague, in plain language, on pages a buyer can actually find.

How this fits with the rest

Vendors and operators share the same search results. The firms you sell to are running their own campaigns, and understanding both sides is what makes vendor work land. I do the operator side through prop firm marketing and broker marketing.

Need the pages written rather than planned? That is financial copywriting. Not sure where the problem sits? Start with an audit.

Send me your product and the kind of firm you want more of. I will come back with where I think the opportunity is and what I would do first.

Questions

Who is this for?

Companies selling into prop firms and brokers rather than to traders. Payments, liquidity, dashboards, and the back office tools a broker runs on.

How is this different from fintech SEO?

Fintech SEO is one channel. This is the wider question of how a vendor gets known in a market of a few hundred buyers, where a lot of the deals come from being visible in the right places rather than from search volume.

Do you run ads for vendors?

No. I work on positioning, search, content and the partner side. If paid is your main gap I will say so and help you work out what to look for in a specialist.

Our market is tiny. Does marketing even help?

It helps differently. With a few hundred buyers the job is not reach, it is being the obvious choice when a specific person searches a specific problem at the moment they have budget.

We are bundled into a turnkey platform. Does that matter?

It matters a lot. Bundled marketing is built once and used for every client on the platform, so a lot of vendor sites end up reading the same. Sounding different is most of the work.

Do you work outside trading fintech?

Yes. Trading is where I am quickest, and further out I will read up properly first and tell you honestly how much time that adds before you commit.
